HERE IS THE SAD NEWS ANNOUNCED IN A COMMUNIQUE ON THE STARTREK.COM WEBSITE: UPN and Paramount Network Television have jointly announced that this will be the final season of Star Trek: Enterprise on UPN. Production will continue until the end of this season, which will finish shooting in March. The series finale, These are the voyages, will air on Friday, May 13, 2005. Dawn Ostroff, President, Entertainment, UPN said 'Star Trek has been an important part of UPN's history, and Enterprise has carried on the tradition of its predecessors with great distinction.' During 4 seasons, STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE produced 98 episodes and won 4 Emmy Awards. 98 episodes, 4 seasons, it was enough to UPN and Paramount for selling airing rights at high price for syndication. Not taking into accompt thousand of complaints, petitions and even support of Manny Coto, brought in as executive producer for helping Brannon Braga and Rick Berman save season 4, the direction has simply cancelled THE highest phenomenom ever seen on TV. So that's the end of 39 years of new episodes of star trek on TV (5 series, 10 movies, 1 animated series). The 8 March 2005, the Hollywood stage that saw successively the Next Generation, DS9, Voyager then Enterprise lives its ultimate shooting day for star trek after 18 years of undiscountinuated shoot. AFTER THE TV, THE FANFICTIONS... But fans have not said their last words. Everywhere on the net, they begin the writing of fictions telling the continuation of the series, more exactly what follows the episode Terra Prime, because everyone agrees that These are the voyages has nothing to do with an episode of Enterprise, so 'Next G'!. Among all the fictions series (and they are numerous), there is one that has emerged from the mass. Following an arc, it presents during its 20 episodes a complete virtual season 5 that go back to the foundation of the 'Trek', with Andorans, Vulcans, and other powerfull enemies who will be to play a mmajor role in the written future of Star Trek. Now has appeared on the net the episode 5.01, on 21 October 2005, thanks to the members of the communauty EntSTCommunity. 15 episodes of a virtual season 5 have been published in 2005-2006, and after its success, 17 new ones have come on the net as a virtual season 7, the continuation, in 2006-2007. As for their edition here in French (and in English), it begun on 17 March 2006 here on this website for the season 5, only 2 days after the finale of Enterprise aired in France on TV. The continuation of this adventure should last for at least two years.
