Ref. : Novel #3
Release date : octobre 2002
Author : Paul Ruditis (after a story by Rick Berman and Brannon Braga)
Summary : Late February, 2152 Starfleet orders Enterprise to return home when the crew seemingly causes the destruction of an alien planet they were exploring. Archer is visited by former crew member Daniels, who rtansports Archer through time to April 9th, 2151, 3 days before the Broken Bow incident, to warn him that the Suliban are trying to sabotage Enterprise's mission. After he helps Archer and the Enterprise to steal informations from the Suliban, Daniels abducts Archer to the 31st century to try to thwart the Suliban's plans, only to find themselves stacked in an entirely devastated Earth. Trapped with Daniels in the 31st century after the History has dramatically changed, Archer learns about the existence of the Federation in its own proper timeline, although it never came to life in the world where they are now. Humans survive in the ancient ruins of the Earth, without even electricity. Archer understands that its destiny and Enterprise's are the main corner stone of the entire future of humanity in the galaxy. Meanwhile, Sulibans have boarded the Enterprise and discover that Archer has been abducted in a time travel. They try to contact their agent in the future to repair the proper timeline.
Remarks : Novellisation of the final episode of the 1st season. Unfortunately, this edition is again released in hard cover, then too much expensive, especially for just a copy of an episode. As for the pilote episode Broken Bow, this book will be released again less expensive in July 2004. This regular 'false' release' is purely commercial and is certainly not finished, since the same case will come again with the final episode of season 2, 'The Expanse', in 2003! Is Enterprise so empty of stories than no original story can be published ? Who is responsible for that, publishers or writters ?
Format : book, hardcover (donc cher). Re-released in July 2004 in paperback pocket book.
