Archer must collaborate with a reluctant military force of the Arkonian species, a race known for its brutality according to the Vulcans, to rescue Trip crash-landed on a moon after a fight with an Arkonian shuttle. Both shuttles crashed, and Trip and the Arkonian work together to build a shelter for ptotecting themselves from the lethal heat of the day. They also manage to build an emitter from parts of both vessels.
