18 August 2009 - Braga and Coto talk about what would have been seen in Enterprise season 5
At Las Vegas Con, Braga And Coto Talk Enterprise (By T'Bonz on August 11, 2009). Brannon Braga and Manny Coto tell fans what a fifth season of Star Trek: Enterprise would have been like, and Braga takes the blame for the controversial Star Trek: Enterprise finale. As reported by TrekMovie.com, a fifth season of Star Trek: Enterprise would have included a return to the Mirror Universe. Four or five episodes would have been spread through the season as a "mini-series within a series." Season Five would have been about tying the "origins of the Federation" and the "begin whispers of the Romulan War" together. The Romulans were to be the only major villains in the fifth season, but new minor villains within "mini-arcs" would have appeared at various points. "Future Guy" was "probably going to be a Romulan" and would have tied into the Romulan War with a future Romulan trying to "instigate things." There were plans to try to make Shran the Andorian a regular character on the NX-01 in the fifth season. Braga spoke about These Are The Voyages, the Star Trek: Enterprise finale that angered many Enterprise fans. "I will take full blame for that episode, for those that didn't like it," he said. "In retrospect, it was a very cool idea, that in the end was a mistake. The concept was to have Manny do a final two-part finale, but then have a final episode send a valentine to all of Star Trek over the last eighteen years. We just thought it would be a cool concept to show the Next Generation's crew looking back, though the holodeck, at Archer's crew. It is a high concept, but I am not sure it came together."

24 September 2006 - A new art book Ships of the line with Enterprise materials in store on Novembre the 7th, 2006
There has never been a Star Trek book like this one. Imagined scenarios, new worlds and historic battles are all brought to life between its pages, as settings for the spectacular starships which have graced the Star Trek universe throughout all five television series. This is what happens when you turn loose some of the most talented computer generated artists in Hollywood - who also just happen to be Star Trek fans - and ask them to create images they would like to have seen on Star Trek. Over the past seven years, wall calendars called Star Trek: Ships of the Line have displayed breathtaking art, specially commissioned for the Ships of the Line series, only to be discarded at the end of the year. To celebrate the fortieth anniversary of Star Trek, the best calendar images of Star Trek battleships have been collected together, with new additional descriptions and history to give them their proper setting in the Star Trek universe. The result is a sumptuous visual record and a magnificent reference book which any Star Trek fan would be proud to own. (thanks to Amazon for this synopsis).

Jimmy, the French cable and satellite chanel, begins airing the forth and last season of Star trek Enterprise on wednesdays, from 4 January 2006. These are by far the best episodes of the 4 seasons, thanks to the coming of new producer Manny Coto that has added a complete renewal in the stories. Mini-arcs about Vulcan, Klingon, Khan's ancestor histories, were are warmly welcomed. Sadly it wasn't enough to save the series from the gripping golden hands of chanels directors (The Trek disappeared in front of Money).

29 November 2005 - Launch of the virtual season 5 of Enterprise the 17 March 2005 online
With the 4th season of Enterprise just finished a few months ago on TV, it's probably, and sadly, the end of Startrek on TV for years to come. Fans could not let the light go out so easily, so a group of fans writers have begun writing the fifth virtual season. There will be 20 episodes to continue the story exactly where the episode Terra Prime has left the heroes of the first, chronologically speaking, Captain, crew and worlds of Star Trek. So we will have again our blue skin ally, and new enemies that should have played a major role if the series had not been cancelled on TV. There will definitely be 5 seasons, and hopelfully 6 of Enterprise. The virtual season in French will begin on Friday 17 March 2006, and can already be found in English on entstcommunity group website (there will be a backup here).

20 July 2005 - He's dead, Jim. Scotty has gone and joined Doc McCoy
The year 2005 will definitely be very sad in the Star Trek world. Wednesday 20 July, the incredible engineer of the Enterprise Starship, scottish Scott Montgomery, died. We will regret the actor James Doohan, he was suffering of pneumonia and Alzheimer disease and died at the age of 85. He has attended a last convention dedicated to him last year in Los Angeles. Since 1966, il had played in the original series and also all 6 classic movies, as well as in 'Generations' movie and in the TNG episode 'Relics'. He and McCoy are now together somewhere in the star trek paradise. Kirk must be sad today, Doc told him 'He's dead, Jim'.

6 March 2005 - Tuesday 8 March 2005, ultimate day of shooting for a ever last episode of Startrek for years
Tuesday 8 March 2005, this will be the latest of the latest day of shooting for the finale of Star Trek Enterprise. The end, a dream, an adventure relaunched in 1987 that stops, after 18 years of continuous Star Trek life. So what do we know about this Star Trek episode? Although the secret is jalously kept (actors have declared that if they are to reveal anything, they'll be killed), we know that Concellor Deanna Troi et Commander (Captain from now?) William T. Riker appear in a third of the episode, but with no time travel. So will we be propulsed in 2381, 4 years after the return home of the USS Voyager, for a commemoration of the creation of the Federation witnessed by our two lovers onboard the USS Titan, the Federation starship of Captain Riker for 3 years? The answer will be confirmed in the next few weeks.

And now, we've heard that a manager for commercial space flight has given 3 millions dollars to have a 5th season of Enterprise. Knowing that the complete season needs 30 millions dollars, it's far from being a victory, but it's already something never seen before to save Star trek Enterprise. So now, what we do UPN heads.

25 July 2004 - 'Home' is the 3rd episode of season 4, and concerns T'Pol's wedding... with a Vulcan
Look at season 4, we're promised it will be fun (Bakula), and continuous in mini-arc stories (Coto). Well, after 2 episodes about the end of the temporal war, here is the first of a series of episodes concerning the wedding of T'Pol and a Vulcan, Koss, organised by T'Las, T'Pol's mother. The details are still rumours, but shooting begins on August 4th, and both characters of T'Pol's life should become recurring.

25 July 2004 - Jerry Goldsmith, creator of TNG and Voyager themes, died on July 21, at the age of 75
Jerry Goldsmith was a reference as musisian in Star Trek. He had created TNG and Voyager's themes, but also the music of numerous motion pictures (Planet of the Apes, The men from UNCLE,...). He died on July 21, at the age of 75. We'll regret him and his sense of creation.

22 July 2004 - Spoilers on season 4: Vulcan civil war 2154, end of Temporal War, and Data's ancestors
During the UPN summer party held in Santa Monica the 16 July 2004, Coto, Berman and Bragga have announced a few arc-stories to be developped in season 4 of Star Trek Enterprise : First one concerns the Vulcan civil war to happen in 2154, that should see Surak as a kind of Martin Luther King, and transform the middle-age extremist-like Vulcans that we ued to see in classic TNG, DS9 and VOY Vulcans (see Alpha Q./History). Another arc, and apparently in fact the first one in the episodes to be seen) will finish with the Temporal War. We'll see the last of Daniels and Silik. Berman and Bragga still don't know if they will reveal the identity of the future figure seen in the pilot and in Shockwave. Finally, Brent Spinner (Data) is coming for 3 episodes regarding Doctor Noonien Soong's ancestor, Data's creator. This ancestor wants to create super-beings from the eugenic wars, a kind of Khan. Last revelation, we are going to discover again the green slave women of Orion, and the Orion Syndicat , at the border of Klingon space.

22 July 2004 - Manny Coto, the new executive producer of Enterprise, and a surprise from Linda Park (Hoshi)
His arrival was official since a month, and UPN had declared that he would become the show runner in place of Rick Berman and Brannon Bragga. But we now know his exact role in the 4th season of Star Trek Enterprise : he is the 3rd executive producer, alongside Bermann and Bragga, lone masters until then. We have discovered Manny at the UPN annual summer party for Television Critics Association (TCA) held in Santa Monica (California). Every main actors of Enterprise were present (except for A. Montgomery), and Linda Park surprised us by coming with her boyfriend, Tom Hardy. This name does not remember you anything ? However, you all know him, he was Picard's clone in Star Trek : Nemesis.

21 July 2004 - 35 years ago, man landed on another celestrial corps than Earth... Moon and Apollo 11.
It's a great aniiversary today. For the 1st time, on July the 21, 1969, man landed on the Moon. It was the first celestrial corps were Earth people was travelling. The adventure will long 4 years, 6 missions and 11 men will land one after the other, always further, always longer. These were the first Trekkers of all.

20 July 2004 - The first 2 episodes of Enterprise Season 4 are entitled 'Storm Front Part I & II'
All the details about the first 2 episodes of Enterprise Season 4. They are the continuation of the end of the 3rd season and are entitled 'Storm Front Part I & II'.

1er July 2004 - James Doohan (Scotty in Star Trek TOS) has Alzeihmer disease
The actor who impersonated the 1st famous Star Trek engineer, Scotty, and who wanted to talk to a Macintosh mouse in 1984 for the 4th movie, has the Alzeihmer disease, just revealed his wife. At 84, James Doohan is just at the 1st steps of the disease, but if he is still sticking to all that happened during the Star Trek production years, he now experiences problems remembering his breakfasts. Older information already revealed James Doohan had Parkinson's disease, diabetes, lung fibrosis and pneumonia. We still hope Scotty will be in great shape for the so long awaited inauguration of his star on Hollywood Boulevard, at the end of August 2004.

15 June 2004 - UPN accepts a 4th season only for shrinking budget reason!
TV Guide magazine of June 20th revealed that according to sources, the real reason UPN renewed Enterprise was that Paramount studios offered to drop the price of each episode of the series from $1.7 million to $800,000. We knows that Paramount strongly desired a fourth season for syndication rights (more lucrative for a series that has produced nearly 100 episodes), and the continuation will also bring back money in merchandise sold to Star Trek fans. All the Star Trek merchandising (video games, books, dolls and other collectibles) are sold for $200 million a year in stores, bringing in royalties of $20 million to Paramount (thanks to TrekToday for this news).

15 June 2004 - Manny Coto becomes showrunner for Enterprise's 4th season
The actor Dominic Keating (Malcolm Reed in Star Trek Enterprise) announced to SFX people thant the producer and writter Manny Cotto, just arrived in Enterprise for the 3rd season, was to become the chief producer and showrunner of the series for the 4th season to come. Keating also declared that Berman and Braga are taking back seats, even a sabbatical year, in order to develop other projects in minds. Braga would become an overview consultant. Anyway, that looks like a suspension for both creators of the series. Cotto wrote 5 episodes of season 3 (Similitude, The Council,...). For the BBC in England, Keating said that tensions existed between production and UPN executives, who want to stop Enterprise. He does not think Enterprise will ever have 7 seasons, as the new UPN execs have no relationship with the studio and only think of the money.

1er June 2004 - New material in the casting pages (fanart) online soon
All new pages (5) are arriving with all the fan-art from all authors dedicated to Enterprise. A large part of the 1st page is made by your host. I hope I didn't make any mistake in credits, but in case I did, don't hesitate to tell me so, I'll correct. This update goes with new updates of other pages (casting, quadrant...)

20 May 2004 - Enterprise renewed for a 4th season (yes)
The 20 May 2004, Paramount officially announced the continuation of Enterprise for a 4th season. It's a happy ending of cancellation rumours for everyone. However, we already know (according to an interview of Scott Bakula, aka Captain Archer) that this new season will only have 22 episodes, against 24 this year. Producers have promised new series of composed stories, in the style of the 3rd season, but with a complete different subject, still unknown. So we'll see that in mid July, at the return of the crew and cast for the shooting of the 1st episode of season 4.

24 March 2004 - Added to the season 3 ep. guide : the last episodes, including n.24: Zero Hour
The season 3 episode guide is now complete with the last 3 parts : #22, The Council; #23, Countdown, and #24 (finale), Zero Hour. A whole year of battles against the Xindix finds its conclusion, let's hope it for the good of Earth. Left to know if the spectacular finale of, let's say it, the best year of Enterprise, will be the announcement of a season 4, or the ultimate startrek finally for a long time. Anyway, the producers (without Berman) have announced their wish to continue with the new style of arc stories begun in series 2003-2004. I personnally hope for this, as it was a proven concept done in Babylon 5.

07 fev 2004 - Added to the season 3 guide the episodes 20 and 21/24 : 'The Forgotten', and 'E2'
2 new episodes added : 'The Forgotten' (3.20), and 'E2' (pronounce 'E squarred') (3.21), with 5 pictures for the first. There are only 3 unknown episodes this season (24 eps only this year), hoping there will be a 4th season.

31 January 2004 - Rumors of replacement of Enterprise's producers
According to an unknown source, internal to the production and already correct source of the airing time slot change, a memo has arrived in the Marketing and Media Relations department. The President of Paramount Televisions, Garry Hart, has talked about replacing some of the production staff, including Rick Berman. The problem came to his attention after the announcement, last week, of executives chiefs Les Moonves and Dawn Ostroff. Meanwhile, Enterprise goes on airing new episodes until Marche the 3rd on Wednesday 8PM (concurrencing Smallville), then will air old episodes for 6 weeks at 9PM to test the new time slot. Mid-April, UPN will air the last episodes of season 3. Let's hope they won't be the last ever...

22 January 2004 - Enterprise in high danger of cancellation.
After the announcement of reduction from 26 to 24 episodes in this third series of Enterprise, new insistant rumors (but anonymous) talk about a possible cancellation. The source talks about 'tense atmosphere on stage', especially after the cancellation of 'Jake 2.0', a show qualified as 'safe' by UPN, exactly as Enterprise is. It seems executive producers (Berman and Braga) are looking for another TV network to go on. Besides, Berman has announced the Xindi arc will finish this season, not more. He didn't announce anything for a following season, except he will like to go on with the founding of the Federation (interview in Star Trek Magazine, January 2004). And now here is the worst : the Paramount direction (Les Moonves and Dawn Ostroff) refuse to announce the renewing of Enterprise for fall. Let's be conscious it is a very probable evidence of cancellation.

19 January 2004 - Added to the s.3 guide the 18 and 19th ep. : 'Azati Prime', 'Damage'
The 18th and 19th episodes of season 3 are entitled 'Azati Prime' and 'Damage'. The Enterprise finally arrives to the planet where the super-weapon destined to destroy Earth is built. Then begins a major battle against the Xindis where the Enterprise will endure severe damage, topic of the next episode. Again, Temporal Agent Daniel comes back for helping Archer in this conflict.

12 January 2004 - Star Trek Birthdays and memorials diplayed top of this page : 280 dates
This site now whishes each given happy (or sometimes sad) day the birthdays (and memorials) of more than 280 actors and crew of Star Trek world, on the top of the homepage. At this day, it is the most complete recurring actors database (some dates given personnally by actors).

29 December 2003 - Technical section : 8 pages for 7 decks - 59 elements - 88 picts
Enterprise NX-01 ship integral description is described in the technical section. Right after the general description of the ship and its revolutionnary Earth propulsion, 7 pages describe each of the 59 elements of the 7 decks. 88 pictures illustrate this in large format.

29 December 2003 - Added to the season 3 guide the 17th episode : Hatchery
The 17th episode of season 3 is entitled 'Hatchery'. Archer wants to save eggs of Xindi-insectoid species from a wreckage of a ship of these ennemies. The episode was finished before Christmas and all the production team stops for a 2 weeks vacations.

28 December 2003 - Cast section: main, actors, recurring, major and minor guests
Almost 300 characters have already been added to the cast section of this site. They are groupped in pages as following : main, crew, recurring, major guests, and minor guest per season.

25 December 2003 - Enterprise to be aired in France on January, the 7th, 2004 8:45PM
The great date in France is January the 7th, 2004 (at 8:45PM). It is the launch of Enterprise on Canal Jimmy cable and satellite channel. The entire pilote is aired that night. The french translation of its title is 'Engage' (en avant toute). I don't know what to think of this french title, but that freakes me for the translation of the dialogs. By the way, the top 1 gag of the year is about TV guide summaries of the pilote, pretending that Vulcans want to kill the injured Klingon. If they want to be less ignorant, I would just recommend them to have a look at this link to the episode guide. Second episode on January the 14th : 'Trek mission' (mission d'exploration).

23 December 2003 - Season 3 shortened to 24 episodes instead of 26
For the first time since the 1st season of Voyager and the 2nd time in 24 seasons of Star Trek (since the launch of TNG), a season of Star Trek is shortened from 26 to 24 episodes. Officially, the reason is to match the standard of actual TV series. But in fact, this decision comes after a rumor that talked about a cancellation of the series after the end of season 4. And this shortened number would allow to reach exactely the 100 episodes necessary to have a better syndication sell. Any way, this shows that even if the change of direction initiated at the end of season 2 is good, it is still not enough to save Enterprise. Even if they talk about 'safety position' for Enterprise, Paramount seems to desire a cost reduction due to still to low ratings. The rumor even talked about moving Enterprise to Saturday night, the death time in America. For the moment, this rumor has been denied, but who knows what's hidden behind false truth and real lies?

19 dec 2003 - Major upgrade of the site this Weekend : 9 sections to be open
The startrek.enterprise.online website is about to be born again. All is going to display the menu+information screen style now. On the menu of this major upgrade, sections : episodes (updated to season 3 ep.16), casting (actors, char, recurring, crew, guest updated to season 3 ep.16), tech (the 7 decks finally entirely detailled WITH pictures), alpha (history, species, ships, worlds of the quadrant), products (books, videos, cd, action figures, models, music...), news, comic parody sevtrek, links, site map. In each page of each section, best pictures and most accurate and details information will be displayed.

02 December 2003 - Added to the episode guide in season 2 : Canamar, # 2.17.
The first 13 episodes of th season 3 are now ready for use. For the next month, actors and crew will take a long waited vacation before coming back to stage after Christmas for a tie-break second part. Spring will come with the decision of going on or not with the series. After the sudden change of direction seen in September, ratings have increased, with is not bad regarding that Enterprise now airs at the same time as Smallville. However, ratings are still not as good as they were in season 1. Then are the producers ready to sign for a new season or stop spending their money for Enterprise ?

06 May 2003 - Added pictures to the episodes The Breach, Cogenitor et Regeneration
After a little silent break, here come a few pictures of the last aired episodes, The Breach, Cogenitor and Regeneration. In the lattest episode, Earth scientists discover Borg survivors from the missed attack seen in 'First contact', then explaining their presence in the series although it's Picard, 200 years later, who is supposed to have discovered the Borgs with a little help from Q.

21 March 2003 - Added to the season 2 guide: Bounty (2#25) and The Expanse (2#26 - FINALE)
Et here are the last 2 episodes of the Enterprise season 2 finally available in the guide. Bounty (#2.25) tells us how Archer is captured by a series of bounty hunters, all attracted by the price promised by the Klingons after the escape of our Captain at the end of his judgement (see that episode, a few weeks ago). The Finale of the season 2 is called The Expanse (#2.26) and is a cliffhanger ! It presents the Klingons coming back for vengeance. The surprise comes to Archer and its crew when, coming back to Earth after having defeated the Klingons, they discover the scars of a disastrous attack on our planet. The end in Septembre, when it seems that the series will seriously increase in speed and actions. Have a very nice summer season...

Two novels announced : release in Paperback of Broken Bow (7 USD) in June 2003, and a new one, Daedalus, in November 2003. As for the calendars 2004, they are all due in July 2003 and we present on the site covers of Enterprise (same cover as last year, no season 2 official casting pictures yet!), and of 'Ships of the line', which cover is a good promise for what's expected inside.

03 March 2003 - Added to the guide of season 2: Regeneration (Borgs!, #2.23) and First Flight (#2.24)
The last pre-finale season 2 episodes are known and bring us into a kind of temporal travel. In 'regeneration', Earth scientists discover strange beings in the Arctic... It's the Borg! And of course, they wake them, causing the beginning of the assimilation of Earth... In the prepenultimate episode of season 2, 'First flight', we jump a few years into Archer and Trip's past to discover the story of the first flight of a Warp 5 ship from Earth, the NX-Beta, from the programme created by Cochrane and Henry Archer.

26 February 2003 - Opening of Enterprise technical page (in French now): deck C presentation
A long time after opening the complete description of the deck A, here comes the revelation of the Deck C known details. this deck has dramatically increased in interest as it's where the gymnase is located, full of devices and other torture practice instruments, like the gyroscope, directly adaptated from the real astronauts training camps. Inside the page, you'll find a brief text description of each known element of the deck C, and some pretty pictures and screen captures to illustrate them. Next stop: deck D and the Engineering...

Please note that UIP decided to cancel the release of Nemesis in some little European countries, including Hungary and Norway.

21 February 2003 - Braga announces a clear change in direction for Enterprise
Braga and Berman have been interviewed in the last edition of Weekly-TV. Asked about the fall of ENTERPRISE's ratings (24 percent in 1 year), Braga said they don't know what to say but they're 'bummed'. Now the good news: he announces more more grand storytelling and 'epic challenges [] that better exploit the sense of awe and danger.' in the show. Berman also said fans can expect a clear change in direction for ENTERPRISE in the future: 'Let’s just say there will be a slight revision in our mission, and a slight revision in the part of space that Enterprise is heading into.' What a good news. Maybe now we'll deal with the Klingon war, the Romulian tenses, the establishement of the neutral zone and finally the creation of a large community of species against these threat. A community that will eventually call themselves... the Federation. If this happens, that may be the final, 5 years from now.

18 February 2003 - Added to Action figures: Doctor Phlox special edition for Toys'R Us
After the first 2 series 'Broken Bow' and 'Away Team' each of 6 action figures and various device and models of Enterprise, Art Asylum just released in January 2003 a separate and special edition of 'Doctor Phlox', exclusively sold by Toys'R Us stores. However, it can be bought by internet but should be hard to be found another way. Doctor Phlox was the last main character of Enterprise not displayed in action figure after the first characters released in May 2002 and the addition of Trip and Sato in December 2002.

17 February 2003 - The head of Paramount motion pictures think Startrek fan number is shrinking.
'We can only assume that the fan base in some way has shrunk.' This very alerting sentence on the future of Startrek has been pronounced by the Paramount head of motion pictures, Sherry Lansing, in an article of the February 21st issue of Entertainment Weekly called 'Falling Star.' It refers to the failure in the failure of Nemesis in the Box Office. The movie has only reached 60 millions of dollars around the world, far from its 80 millions budget. And when heads of Paramount come to declare this kind of thing, we can be afraid that decisions regarding the 3rd season of Enterprise may be unsure, even if Mr Lansing didn't seem to incriminate R. Berman for the failure. It's a new strong indication for, at best, a series redefinition, or, at worst, its definitive stop. We shall know more in the next few weeks as the decision for the production of the 3rd season arrives.

13 February 2003 - Added to the season 2 : Judgement (#19), Horizon (#20), The Breach (#21) et Cogenitor (#22)
Four new episode pages in this update, et around 10 other episodes upgraded, here is the program of the day. The Seventh (#7) and The Communicator (#8) finally got their screen captures, numerous new details and notes have been added to following episodes, and the official pictures are now going up to Future Tense (#16), the new official name of the episode previously called Crash Landing.

11 February 2003 - Enterprise lives its less popupar time on TV
Since last November, the audience never stops falling. From one week to the next, new episodes break the ground one after the other. This week, Stigma was the big test. Never so much monay had been used in advertising for an episode this season. Judgement: a failure, since the episode, although increasing its rates by 10 to 15 percents with regard to last week episode, still has the 3rd worse rate of this bad season. A fact that has to frighten us in a time where UPN changes its series by making disappear the too old or too low in rates (Buffy definitively ends this spring 2003). So please, dear producers: jump into the action, forget about the normal daily life of a ordinary-like crew. Enterprise is anything but that, they're the FIRSTS, the EXPLORERS by excellence !

11 February 2003 - Added to the episode guide, season 2: Judgement, #2.19
In the 19th episode of the 2nd season, Judgement, Archer may be faced with a life sentence judgement for having helped a Klingon rebel colony. The judgement is set on the outpost that will be later destroy by Romulans, as learned in TNG's 'Yesterday's Enterprise,' and the sentence is to be executed in the dilithium colony where... Kirk will be in Startrek 6.

11 February 2003 - Added to the episode guide, season 2: The Crossing, #2.18
In the 18th episode of the 2nd season, The Crossing, the crew act strangely after being possessed by aliens that left the ship adrift in space.

14 January 2003 - Added to the episode guide in season 2 : Canamar, # 2.17.
Archer and Trip are taken by mistake as prisoners toward the Canamar penal colony while visiting Enolian species.

6 December 2002 - Enterprise must do better on UPN
During the first week of December, UPN programming chief Dawn Ostroff confirmed that ENTERPRISE is being slightly retooled by promising sexier and action-packed episodes, to try and curb the decline observed in the ratings since the beginning of the season 2. In one year, the audience has been cut by 15 percent while rival WB has increased by 17 percent on the same period. TV Guide has just called Enterprise the series "lost in Space".

But most insteressant, a new 60 cm model of the newest Enterprise, the NX-01, should be found in shops soon after. 16 July 2002 - Revelations on season 2 by braga and Berman, 14 July 2002 (thanks to trekweb).
Talking to Sci-Fi Wire today executive producer Brannon Braga has revealed that the ENTERPRISE crew will have its first brush with the Romulans early in season two, ending months of speculation about the introduction of the Romulans into the series. 'Very early in the season we will have our first brush with the Romulans. ... Capt. Archer will have a very lethal brush with the Romulans early on.' He added, 'We've been very careful. The continuity is airtight. Believe me.'
Braga also reveals that former X-FILES scribe John Shiban's first script will involve Lt. Reed pinned under a deep-space mine on the exterior hull of the NX-01. This script will be the third of the season. Speaking about the Vulcans, Braga says that the second episode of the series will involve time travel back to the 1950s and a secret about the Vulcans. 'One of the things we realized early on, when we were doing this series, was that there was a chance to make the Vulcans really interesting again. ... The Vulcans are really a paradoxical species, especially on this show, in that they are very enlightened, and consider themselves to be enlightened, but they're really kind of screwed up, too. ... The second or third episode will be a big [Vulcan] episode, which actually takes place in the 1950s, and we learn that first contact with Zefram Cochrane actually wasn't the first time Vulcans had been on Earth. And the High Command has this secret thing that they're trying to cover up.' He also promises big revelations about T'Pol's character. He says the Temporal Cold War will take a backseat after the premiere gives hints about the birth of the Federation and Phlox and Mayweather will get more work this year. Brannon goes on to say Captain Archer will get his space legs as the season progresses and grow into the role of a captain trying to prove his mission. For more, check out this page.
Speaking more globally, he said, 'we're trying to improve on the first year. We've got a great part 2 to [Shockwave], which we were very pleased with, and that's terrific. We're about seven stories in. We're just starting. ... We want to capitalize more on the fact that it's a prequel. We want to have a season that maybe has even more action than it had last season.'
Rick Berman and Brannon Braga also both revealed plenty more at Sunday's Television Critics Association UPN party. Speaking of 'Carbon Creek,' he revealed 'We've got a show that takes place in 1957, where we learn that Vulcans actually made first contact with Earth long before Zefram Cochrane. The whole show takes place in the 1950s, with T'Pol's great-grandmother.'
Rick Berman also hinted about two more episodes, including the first comedy of the season. 'We've got some great stuff coming up,' Berman said. 'We've written about six episodes to date. Brannon and I are writing our third now, which is kind of a 'La Femme Nikita'-type episode. We also have a very humorous episode that has our good captain going and spending some time in Sickbay, because his dog gets sick. He moves into Sickbay the same way a mother will move into the hospital when her child gets sick, and it ends up being an 'Odd Couple' kind of an episode between the captain and Dr. Phlox. It's a lot of fun.'
At last, Brannon went on to mention the appearance of the Romulans jesting, 'the continuity's airtight, so I don't want to hear any complaints!'.

11 July 2002 - News about season 2 of Enterprise.
Interview given by B. Braga for Star Trek Communicator, July 2002 issue.
New revelations on the Temporal Cold War in the 1st episode, 'Shockwave, II'. 'Soneone doesn't want humans to success in their space exploration, because it would result in the creation of an interplanetary alliance' has said Braga. Everything won't be revealed in that episode, though. This line will be followed in other episodes that each time will reveal new key points. The idendity of the Future Guy figure, the mysterious human that give orders to the Sulibans, may be revealed soon. 'In any case, this is not something fans will have to wait for until the end of the season', said Braga. 'We thought anout revealing it in the Final of shockwave, but it was too soon and the plot would have been altered'. Right now, producers think to reveal it in the next episode about the Temporal War. Speaking of alien species, Braga has declared that the Sulibans finally proved to be interessant. As of the Andorians, we'll surely see soon Jeffrey Combs (Shran). As Andorians are to become Earth Allies, these characters won't disappear. We shall even discover their home world. Finally, the producers would like to introduce the Romulians, but they represent a big historical continuity problem and they don't really know how to include them without having to destroy what we know from the original series (first contact in the 23rd century). They will come, but not now. For the moment, Romulians are anyway a priority of the movie (Startrek Nemesis, #10, coming in December 2002). 'The creation of the Federation will really become an important subject in the serie', promised Braga. 'But it will need time, sweat, conflicts, and major interstellar events to reach it. These are elements that will be developped during this season. It's something we don't want to go into too fast. Right now, we have just said 'Hello' [to other species]. However, we shall begin to enter more inside the subject next year.'
